Amber & Bing - A teaser for now...

Dave and I had the good fortune to shoot the wedding of our good friend Amber last Saturday. It was a fantastic day - the rain stayed away and we were able to get some really great shots.

Amber looks STUNNING in a wedding dress with her make-up and hair all done. We're not used to seeing her that way. But I think you will agree, she made an amazing bride.

Here are just a few shots from the great event.

Maternity - Andrew & Joelle

Finally! A sunny day this summer! It couldn't have worked out better that I had a photo shoot already booked with Andrew and Joelle.

We headed down to the river valley with their two dogs and took some fun shots under the walking bridge, braved the mosquitos and had a great time.

Here are some of the shots from that day. Check out the Portraits section of the site for more.

A Tornado rolls through...

Here is a recent shot I took around Bowden, on a family trip to Calgary. Amazing when there is something so potentially dangerous so close that my first instinct is to jump out of the car and take a picture.

The Not Evil Step Mother

I love working with Ellen Chorley and her company, Promise Productions. Year over year, she produces smart, entertaining and creative theatre shows that challenge young audiences and generally turn known stories on their heads.

This year at the Edmonton International Fringe Festival, Ellen is bringing us a MUSICAL. The show is called The Not Evil Step Mother and she quotes it as saying that it, "turns every fairy tale you’ve ever heard topsy turvy."

I also have to admit that I have a vested interest in the show this year as my wife Derrique is directing it. It promises to be a really fun show for all ages.

Here are the details:

The Not Evil Stepmother plays at the Venue 11 (PCL Studio at the TransAlta Arts Barns) on the following dates/ times:

Saturday, August 13 at 11:00 am
Sunday, August 14 at 4:30 pm
Tuesday, August 16 at 6:45 pm
Wednesday, August 17 at 3:00 pm
Friday, August 19 at 11:00 am
Saturday, August 20 at 2:45 pm

Baby Conor

Lucky for me, I was able to take pictures little Conor, just days before the paperwork went through that confirmed his new adoptive parents as my sister-in-law Dallas and brother-in-law Tom.

It was way passed his bedtime and he was not impressed with us, but thanks to a fast shutter, I was able to get a few great shots in between the tears.

I couldn't be happier for Dallas and Tom. They have been waiting a long time for Conor and they couldn't have gotten a better kid.

My one year old daughter can't stop saying, "Baby Conor? Baby Conor?".

All the best to you guys.

Congrats and thanks for letting me take his picture.

I had a great time working with these girls last month. They came dressed to the nines, ready and willing to do whatever it took to get the perfect shot for their upcoming fundraiser and Fringe show.

The girls were such a professional group, it made my job so much more easy.

Here is the poster that I've put together from that session for their up coming fundraiser entitled:

Matt, Becky & Julianne

Oh the last nice day before the snow.

I had the chance to head outside with this awesome little family right around sunset. The wind was a little cold, but it was a great send off to the fall and I got some pretty neat shots in the process.

Check out the Portraits section of the site for more.

Amy & Sam

Good friends of mine, Amy & Sam are having a baby. They are potentially having said baby on Halloween of all days. Oooooh.

We went out to the Prairie Gardens and Adventure Farm and took the shots on a warm, October Sunday. The colours were great and the sky quickly cleared up leaving some awesome backdrops for the pictures of baby to be.

Check out the Portraits section of the site for other shots from that day!

Dhana & Greg - Wed at the AGA

When Dhana sent me a message asking whether I was interested in being their wedding photographer, I jumped at the chance. Dhana was the stage manager for the Mostly Water 'I'm Stickin' with Kiefer' show I did a couple years back so I knew it would have some artistic flare to it.

When she said the wedding was at the AGA, I almost fell off my chair. What a great backdrop for a wedding! You can't take a bad picture in that place.

Here's a small sample of what was shot that day. Once again, huge thanks to Brad Gibbons of Brad Gibbons Photography for the backup.

Check out the Weddings section for more shots from this beautiful day.

Erin & Alex

I had an awesome time working with Erin and Alex on their speical day. The morning started out rough with a wicked thunderstorm, which put quite the damper on the guy's planned 18 holes. But come the afternoon, the sun was out leaving some stunning clouds in it's wake.

Big thanks to Brad from Brad Gibbons Photography for all the help. Check out the Joining section of the site for more shots.

Impromptu Family Shoot

For Canada Day, the family and I went down to Calgary to visit my parents. It so happened that all my brothers and sisters were also there, something that rarely happens. I had my gear, so we went for a walk up from my parents' place to a nearby hill.

The best part was it was just about to rain so the clouds were fantastic! Here are the results. Check out the Capturing sections of the blog for others from this shoot.
