Snow Globe Festival of Children's Theatre - 2012

It's that time of year again! The snow has fallen, there is a jingle in the malls as you rush to get your shopping done, and back warming children's hearts for another year is the Snow Globe Festival of Children's Theatre, running December 18-22 at the C-103 (formerly the Catalyst theatre).

Promise Productions' annual gift to the city of Edmonton is back for it's second year. I had the privilege once again to handle all the graphic design and photography for this theatre festival.

If you have young ones, or are young at heart, you will not be disappointed with the awesome line up this year.

The festival is featuring:

Babes in Toyland by Rebecca Ryland

Robin Hoodby Kathryn Schultz Miller

and

Birdie on the Wrong Bus by the festival's own Ellen Chorley

Tickets are on sale now at Tix on the Square and more information can be found on their website:

www.promiseproductionstheatre.com or on their Facebook page.

Here are some of the shots I did for the festival.

Enjoy and hope to see you there.

The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe at the Snow Globe Festival for Children's Theatre

Sometimes a snowy day is a good thing.

Last weekend I was out with the Promise Productions crew once again, shooting their final images for their third show, The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe

We were just about knee deep in Edmonton River Valley snow, but the cast in full costume were total professionals. You can't even tell in the photos how cold their feet were.

As a reminder, there is still time left to help support the Snow Globe Festival of Children's Theatre in it's inaugural voyage by heading over to their IndieGoGo page and donating some money to this worthy cause. You can also head over to their Facebook page for the most current festival info.

Also check out TIX on the Square to get your tickets for this awesome family, holiday activity.

As for us, visit our Promotion page to see over theatre promo images we've done.

Hope to see you at the festival!

Snow Globe Festival of Children's Theatre

Promise Productions is holding it's inaugural children's theatre festival this December and you can be a part of it!

The Snow Globe Festival of Children's Theatre will run from December 20-24 in the Edmonton Avenue Theatre and will show case some fantastic productions including "The Fairy Catcher's Companion" and "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe". It promises to be a wonderful festival for the whole family.

However, they need your help! At this point, Promise Productions has not secured any grant funding and is relying on individual donations to make the festival happen.

If you want to donate to help this great idea get off the ground, please visit their IndieGoGo page and donate there.

As for us, check out the poster design we did for the festival.

If you want to purchase tickets for the festival, please visit Tix on the Square.

We hope you'll check it out!

The Not Evil Step Mother

I love working with Ellen Chorley and her company, Promise Productions. Year over year, she produces smart, entertaining and creative theatre shows that challenge young audiences and generally turn known stories on their heads.

This year at the Edmonton International Fringe Festival, Ellen is bringing us a MUSICAL. The show is called The Not Evil Step Mother and she quotes it as saying that it, "turns every fairy tale you’ve ever heard topsy turvy."

I also have to admit that I have a vested interest in the show this year as my wife Derrique is directing it. It promises to be a really fun show for all ages.

Here are the details:

The Not Evil Stepmother plays at the Venue 11 (PCL Studio at the TransAlta Arts Barns) on the following dates/ times:

Saturday, August 13 at 11:00 am
Sunday, August 14 at 4:30 pm
Tuesday, August 16 at 6:45 pm
Wednesday, August 17 at 3:00 pm
Friday, August 19 at 11:00 am
Saturday, August 20 at 2:45 pm
Sunday, August 21 at 4:30 pm

Tickets are available at the door, in advance by calling the Fringe Festival Box Office at (780) 409-1910 or visiting www.fringetheatreadvenutres.ca.
