Bust 'Em Up Burlesque

Send in the Girls Burlesque has hit the big time!

Their new show, Bust 'Em Up Burlesque is opening tonight at the Citadel Theatre. We were so happy to be working with them to build promotional images for the fourth time.

For this shoot, we broke away from tradition where we shoot against a black wall, and went out into the real world. We first went to a house with an awesome claw bathtub, then headed over to the Mercer Tavern for the remainder of the session.

The Mercer was such a great fit because it has an actual large safe built right into the wall which fit perfectly with the 1920s bank robber setting of the show.

We will be there tonight for their opening. Can't wait to see it. You should see it too.

The National Elevator Project

This is the thing theatre can do that movies can't.

A one of a kind experience.

A chance to watch a 5 minute play in the intimacy of a real elevator.

I was so excited when Theatre Yes approached me to design their posters and online material for The National Elevator Project. The concept of the shoot surrounded some of the most awkward situations you could find yourself in during a quick ride from the 31st floor of a downtown sky rise.

I encourage you to visit theatre-yes.ca or head over to their Facebook page for more information.

Plays are five minutes in length and will be available on demand during a 2 hour window daily (from 7:30pm - 9:30pm; matinees are from 2pm - 4pm).

Tickets can be purchased at Tix on the Square.

dbphotographics.ca & the Edmonton Fringe

This has been quite a Fringe for our photo organization. We did either photos or posters (or both) for 6 separate shows. Man, they could not be more different from each other. From zombie tutorials to a raunchy, black comedy. From burlesque to a country western in a bar.

This is seriously one of my favourite things to do.

I think in a past, fictional life, I would have been walking around the offices of Sterling Cooper Draper Price. Although it would have been a lot more difficult without Photoshop.

Check out the work we did for:

Adore Canada: A Burlesque Tour of Canada - BYOV  - The Artery

Death is Bullshit: The Pursuit of Pavement  - Venue 6 - C103

Little Fish - BYOV 35 - The Varscona Theatre

Princess ConfidentialVenue 11 - PCL Studio in the ATB Financial Arts Barns

The Rambler - BYOV 17: Red Square Vodka House

Undead or Alive - BYOV 19 - The TACOS Space

Check out the fun stuff we got to do... and MAKE SURE you get a chance to go see one or ALL of the shows listed above. Here is other examples of our design work,

Happy Fringe!

Capitol Theatre Presents - Blue Heaven

We have been selected to be the graphic designer / photographers for Capitol Theatre's new season. It is quite the honour. For me, it allows me to combine my two passions; theatre and photography. I can't wait to show you what we've been working on.

The Capitol Theatre at Fort Edmonton Park's first production this season is 'Blue Heaven' by Nick Green. The show runs March 7-17 at 8 PM in their beautiful new (old) theatre. Go check it out! Click here for more info on how to get tickets.

Also, check out the poster and promotional photos we did for this awesome group.

Here's to a fun season.
