Danica & Ryan

We LOVE this family. They have been so good to Brad and I. I've known Chantal for years. We got into working with this group when she needed family photos done for her Christmas cards one year. Then later in the year, we got asked to shoot the engagement party for her sister Danica. That's where we met these two.

A year later, the big wedding day arrives and did not disappoint. The ceremony (complete with a Chinese tea ceremony and some amazing desserts from Duchess Bakery!!) was held at the Union Bank Inn. From there we walked a little down Jasper Ave until we were bombarded by a hail storm and had to duck into Commerce Place. This is where Brad and I got to show off our MacGyver skills. A quick phone call by Ryan to a closed Lux and we got to shoot in the beautiful restaurant. We had it all to ourselves! The staff there could not have been more awesome.

After that, it was a quick trip over to Sabor Divino for dinner. The food was exquisite!

We had such a great time with these two. Check out this quick selection of shots from the day!

Nicole & Carl

Nicole & Carl were married on Saturday July 27th of this year. It was a day of mixed weather, that's for sure. Just when we were all set to start the formal photo portion of their day, the rain began to fall so we had to think up a new plan very quickly. We decided to duck into The Public House pub to get a few photos of the couple with the wedding party. Well, it turned out very well! We were able to get many great shots while we were there (big thank you to The Public House staff for letting us shoot there).

After a while in the pub, the rain stopped so we took to the streets. We managed to find several great locations within a few minutes from the pub and got more great shots of this fantastic couple.

Dave and I met up with Nicole & Carl a few days ago to deliver their final images to them and they seem to be very happy with what we were able to capture on that day in spite of the weather challenges. We were quick to point out that their relaxed schedule (they built in several hours of photo time) really made it all possible. Everyone was upbeat and had a great afternoon.

Please take a look below at some of the images we captured from their day.

Nicole & Carl, it was a pleasure working with you both and we wish you a lifetime of happiness together.

Jason & Gina - Family Portraits

It has been a summer of connecting with old friends it seems. This time it is family portraits for one of my brother’s oldest friends. I've known Jason through my brother Robin for 21 years now… crazy! Jason, Gina, Robin and I all played on the same slo-pitch team a few years ago. Fun times (and man can Jason hit that ball!!).

I met with Gina to talk about what sort of shoot she had in mind for their family photos and she wanted something different. Good thing that’s what Dave and I love doing! We decided to do some of the session in a downtown condo unit that is under construction… but have them all dressed up. I think we managed to get some different photos for sure!

We ended the shoot in the lobby of the building. I absolutely love the photos of the kids together on the chairs. What cute kids!! The whole family is beautiful and I was happy I got to take these photos for them.
